The new design
This is such an elegant flag design. It recognizes Australia’s aboriginal heritage in a very beautiful way. Then there is recognition of our British roots in the red, white and blue. Finally it focuses on our new and independent status in the southern seas with the Southern Cross.
You may not have considered having a new flag before; but this flag could be one that unites us all. It acknowledges Indigenous Australians, and is a design likely to be more acceptable to citizens of non-British origin as well as those of British background. It is a flag of which we all could be proud.
